Valve’s $1 million DotA 2 tournament dubbed “The International” was unexpectedly interrupted today as the showroom floor in Cologne, Germany lost power.
Rumor has it that water from a water bottle spilled into an electric socket, causing the whole power outage.
Fans tuning in to the live stream broadcast on Steam and through the DotA 2 website were greeted by ominous bold text explaining the power issue at around 8:35 p.m. CET.
The power outage happened well into the MYM and Mith-Trust match in round 3 of the loser’s bracket. The MYM and Mith-Trust match is the last of today’s tournament, OK.Nirvana.Int vs M5 has been rescheduled to tomorrow.
Stay tuned as details arise.
Update: The stream is back up and it looks like the actual game wasn’t affected. I won’t spoil who won in case you were planning on watching the replays later.
