Good news, bronies! A My Little Pony fighting game is in development.
Mane6 are developing and releasing the 2D indie fighting game, which will be titled My Little Pony: Fighting is Magic. The game is based on the latest incarnation of the franchise, “Friendship is Magic.” The initial release of the game is coming soon and will include six playable characters (the “mane” six, or, Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Applejack and Pinkie Pie).
Another 11 will be released regularly as DLC for the main game until the full roster is 17. After that, the developers will think about whether they want to add more or not. There will be both a story mode and a versus mode (local and online). The game will be strictly 1v1; no tag fights.
The game will have four buttons and support a joystick. It will also feature mostly original voice acting as well as original music inspired by the show’s music. Perhaps the best part though is that this game is entirely fan-based. From fans for fans and for free. That’s right, free.

This is going to get shut down.
Why do you say that?
It’s too well done. I don’t think Hasbro will like it.
Ah. Well that would be too bad. They’ve put a lot of time and effort into it.
