With the launch of Assassins Creed: Revelations less than a week away, Ubisoft have already announced the development of a fifth instalment to the series.
Ubisoft’s CEO, Yves Guillemot, is reported as saying, “I have the pleasure to announce today that there will be another full-fledged Assassin’s Creed title next year. It will be another major release, and we will be communicating more about it in the coming months.”
Hopefully this means that with the close of Ezio’s story in Revelations Ubisoft can move on to a whole new character in a different time period. While Ezio is loved by many fans, personally I’m relieved they are finally ready to move on.
I’m also really excited about the direction that this next game will take. Which time period they choose especially intrigues me, if they chose one at all. After all, with Desmond’s assassin memories getting ever stronger maybe he will be the main plot figure this time round? Then again it would be really interesting to see the story taken to somewhere completely different, maybe Victorian England, Civil War America or even China during the fall of the Ming Dynasty.
There is so much potential for this game, I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
The as-of-yet unnamed fifth Assassin’s Creed game comes out during 2012. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations comes out for PS3/Xbox 360 on November 15, 2011 and for PC on November 29, 2011.
Updates: There’s a rumor going around that the title will be set in the American Revolution. Additional rumors point to a Wii U release as well as a release date (click here). The first image was leaked.

The 5th assassins creed, I think its going to be about the time before the world ended. The time when the humans knew about the gods way before Altair and Ezio. You will either travel back in time with desmond or play a new assassin way back before Altairs life. Most probably be before the creed started.

I think that they leave a message at the end of Revelations about what the 5th AC will be… In the end of Revelations that God talking to Desmond says something about a vault that has all their knowledge stored away and then it zooms in to like the New York area… So either the next game will revolve around Desmond or an assassin in an American era, such as the Civil War era, searching for the sercrets of that vault… In my opinion

Wouldn’t it be awesome if they somehow go back to the advanced civilization that flashbacked at the end of Revelations? (where it high lights the girl with her baby) Desmond could still have ancestors in that time because they said that 10,000 people survived after the earth was destroyed, so they could do something with that!
If assassin’s creed: ember hides any clues, it will most likely be set in Asia, with Ezio’s replacement being a young woman.
[possible spoiling] Maybe in asia. The ming dinasty seems possible because in the Ember movie Ezio give to an asian women some knoweldge about how to live as an assassin. by the way …
Honestly I don’t care what the fith assassins creed is going to be like. I’m just glad that there is going to be a next part. Those games are just bloody brilliant!
bad news but this is the final assassins creed game in the series. Saw something saying that ubisoft made the story of desmond to end in 2012 meaning that the world will blow up by then. also they want to finish the story at the same time as the real date of 2012. otherwise its pointless making a game where it ends in 2012 if we are already past 2012. this is what ubisoft said

all these people that think the worlds going to blow up are just retarded the end of revelations suggests that there will be a 5th one it most likey will revolve around desmond but might go back and forth from him to the first civilization but im not an expert thats just my opinion
i completed playing revelations and obviously there’s going to be a fifth, weird ending but great game!!!
Truly, i think the fifth (which is the 3rd for some) will be Desmond one, something like a war between assassin’s team against templar’s team placed in nowadays with desmond during it, going down the vault which mostly be a big maze with some dungeons and puzzle to resolve. And mostly the asian one will be a spin off. By the way i want to point out that the war between assassins and templars doesn’t end by 12.12.2012, it is the wolrd that ends (remember solar thing ?), which means that if it’s saved, war will go on. (mostly with the use of desmond’s capacity or weapon acquired during wolrd’s salvage being restricted or unsuable after this one)…A good theory isn’t it?
