With the launch of Assassins Creed: Revelations less than a week away, Ubisoft have already announced the development of a fifth instalment to the series.
Ubisoft’s CEO, Yves Guillemot, is reported as saying, “I have the pleasure to announce today that there will be another full-fledged Assassin’s Creed title next year. It will be another major release, and we will be communicating more about it in the coming months.”
Hopefully this means that with the close of Ezio’s story in Revelations Ubisoft can move on to a whole new character in a different time period. While Ezio is loved by many fans, personally I’m relieved they are finally ready to move on.
I’m also really excited about the direction that this next game will take. Which time period they choose especially intrigues me, if they chose one at all. After all, with Desmond’s assassin memories getting ever stronger maybe he will be the main plot figure this time round? Then again it would be really interesting to see the story taken to somewhere completely different, maybe Victorian England, Civil War America or even China during the fall of the Ming Dynasty.
There is so much potential for this game, I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
The as-of-yet unnamed fifth Assassin’s Creed game comes out during 2012. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations comes out for PS3/Xbox 360 on November 15, 2011 and for PC on November 29, 2011.
Updates: There’s a rumor going around that the title will be set in the American Revolution. Additional rumors point to a Wii U release as well as a release date (click here). The first image was leaked.

I am sure that persia is the best place for assassins creed 5.it has too much potential.
I hope in the continueing sequels that we get to go back and play as the six assassins that ezio in number two had to find the crypt seals for.

I like this game very much and while playin’ I think that I’m really an assassin. I always wished to be a character of a game. I don’t know if I can be. Don’t mind please. I always wished to see a game which has a guy named “Reazul Islam”. Nothing is impossible, is it? And in Assassin’s Creed game, I just don’t know. I miss Altaïr and Ezio very much. Every year WE (The Brotherhood) are waiting for the new game’s release. It’s one of the greatest games. Waiting for the next to release.Sorry guys told this from the core of my heart.
