With the launch of Assassins Creed: Revelations less than a week away, Ubisoft have already announced the development of a fifth instalment to the series.
Ubisoft’s CEO, Yves Guillemot, is reported as saying, “I have the pleasure to announce today that there will be another full-fledged Assassin’s Creed title next year. It will be another major release, and we will be communicating more about it in the coming months.”
Hopefully this means that with the close of Ezio’s story in Revelations Ubisoft can move on to a whole new character in a different time period. While Ezio is loved by many fans, personally I’m relieved they are finally ready to move on.
I’m also really excited about the direction that this next game will take. Which time period they choose especially intrigues me, if they chose one at all. After all, with Desmond’s assassin memories getting ever stronger maybe he will be the main plot figure this time round? Then again it would be really interesting to see the story taken to somewhere completely different, maybe Victorian England, Civil War America or even China during the fall of the Ming Dynasty.
There is so much potential for this game, I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
The as-of-yet unnamed fifth Assassin’s Creed game comes out during 2012. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations comes out for PS3/Xbox 360 on November 15, 2011 and for PC on November 29, 2011.
Updates: There’s a rumor going around that the title will be set in the American Revolution. Additional rumors point to a Wii U release as well as a release date (click here). The first image was leaked.

Just saying there probably wont be somewhere out of Europe becuase the thing is you have to be related to that person to see there memories and i don’t think some european kid would drop everything and leave just to go to China like really
there wont be any more ezio becuase in revelations at the end of the game he resigns from being an assassin and marries sofia

assassins creed 5 is an exciting idea if real the american revilution would be a intresting game but the war in cow boys has been done mybe the china idea or during the years of classic cars in music or mybe england something fresh something no 1 has done yet

personally im glad ezios finnally gone dont get me wrong i like him but god 3 games altair only got 1 and they could have stoped ezio after game numbr2 hopefully ur desmond mostly but now agaiin someone new b awesome if at the end some1 is in a animus being desmond.
