Antichrist from the PCGamesHardware forums came up with a simple solution that only requires inputting a command into the game’s console.
Open the console by hitting the ` or ~ key (you know, that mostly unused button above “Tab” and to the left of “1″) and enter the following command:
Voila! That should fix any stuttering you may have with the game. If your PC still can’t run the game smoothly then you may just be bottlenecked for some other reason. Be sure you consult the game’s minimum and recommended requirements.
Word from PCGamesHardware is that this command will allow GTX 260 cards to run the game perfectly. The site even goes on to say that Geforce 8 and 9 cards should be able to run Battlefield 3 better after inputting the console command.
An option in the Geforce driver panel also adjusts the prerender limit. Modifying that will affect all games that run on your Geforce card so keep that in mind. Using the console command should be fine for your purposes.
