After IGN, via a tweet, teased news of a big Pokemon announcement coming this week, Pokemon fans have been waiting with bated breath for what this may mean for the series, or maybe that’s just me. The wait is over.
Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 will be releasing in Japan June 2012, but that doesn’t confirm a global release. If these games were to be localized for the US and EU, following past release schedules, my guess is that this would release in late 2012 or early 2013.
The two mascots for this new set of games appear to be either alternate forms of Kyurem from Black and White or some fusion of Kyurem with Reshiram and Zekrom.
There is also no word on if Black and White 2 will be re-tellings of the events in the Unova region or if these titles will somehow continue where the story left off. My guess is the latter.
I have yet to finish Black or White but I still love the Pokemon series. I say this every single time a new game releases but I really hope this one renews my love of the series. Just please don’t add too many more new Pokemon for me to learn.
UPDATE: According to Kotaku, an official North American news release from Nintendo has confirmed that the North American and European releases of Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 will be fall 2012. Furthermore (in case you weren’t sure), the game will be playable in 2D format on the 3DS, though it will be released for the DS.

I heard that a mint chocolate chip ice cream cone is going to be a pokemon in the next game.
I heard that was only in one version and Raspberry Ripple is in the other. A rare Vanilla cone will be available at tradeshows.
Ah right, I forgot about that part.
There’s already a vanilla ice cream Pokemon named Vanillite. Never caught it.
If this is true then I will be very happy. Mint chocolate is my favorite.
