Legasista, described as a “survival action-RPG,” has the basic premise that in its world, science has become such a myth that it is looked upon by people as magic. The story follows Alto, a youth who has set off to rescue his sister by exploring the Ivy Tower, a long-abandoned ruin where “ancient science slumbers.” Of course, along the way you meet other characters who join your mission and you can play as them as well. There are six classes: Warrior, Explorer, Pyro, Cyro, Thief, and War Mage. Furthermore, it looks like the game will allow a degree of customization in terms of stats, weapons, and character creation (you can even important images from elsewhere).
Legasista will be coming to the PSN August 2012. Check out the teaser trailer here.
Mugen Souls combines turn-based combat with free-roaming movement and allows players to “seduce” enemy characters using “moe kills,” which causes them to join your party. Like Legasista, you can apparently create characters as well. The main character can switch between seven personalities – each with their own strengths and weaknesses.
Mugen Souls is due out on PS3 fall 2012. Check out the teaser trailer and site here.
The Witch and the Hundred Knights
The Witch and the Hundred Knights is an action-RPG set in a 3D environment and featuring real-time combat. The premise is that there are two opposing witches, the Swamp Witch (who’s evil) and the Forest Witch (who’s good). You serve the evil witch, but you can choose whether to be truly evil or to try to help those you’re meant to kill. Furthermore, NIS America Producer Jack Niida said,
“But we wanted to make it unique, so rather than focusing on a single character or a traditional RPG party, why not have 100 units and see what we can do? So that’s where the 100 knights come from. They’re a bit like the T-1000, they don’t have a true body and can morph into anything they wish. You can morph a knight into a tesla coil to zap enemies, or into a weapon, or a shield, and other objects and characters. So that’s how the 100 knights help you.”
The Witch and the Hundred Knights will be arriving on PS3 in early 2013. Check out the teaser website here.
