Starbreeze Studios, known for the Chronicles of Riddick and Syndicate games, has been struggling lately. Having already downsized after the release of Syndicate, the studio is now looking for other ways to keep afloat.
One way is by developing a free to play game, Cold Mercury. Another way is by finding a distributor for their title, P13.
Mikael Nermark, CEO of Starbreeze, seemed pretty upbeat about the changes, however. Here’s what he had to say:
“Starbreeze will not leave the AAA segment. We are discussing with several leading game publisher on publisher financed games, but we will broaden our product portfolio of games in the new business models and segments that have arisen in the games industry. I am convinced that Starbreeze will be successful with the new games.”
Hopefully, things will work out for them.
