Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes was demoed again today at the Eurogamer Expo. During this demo, Hideo Kojima revealed that the game will allow players to build their own bases, reminiscent of Peace Walker.
Players will be able to make use of the helicopter that has been showcased in other demos to reach their base, and will be able to move around the base in real time when constructing it. Kojima also discussed where he would like to take the feature:
“These days there are various ways to access the game world, not just playing in your living room on your games console. You may also access through your cell phone and other devices. I think in that respect that motherbase system lends itself very well to that system, and that’s something we’re planning on for Ground Zeroes.”
So, it would seem that players will be potentially able to alter and add to their base from the comfort of their smart phones. What do you think? Are you interested in the addition of building to the Metal Gear franchise? Are you looking forward to Ground Zeroes?
This whole interactivity with other platforms seems unremarkable to me. That is unless I can do meaningful tasks while checking up on my base using my phone.
That sounds really cool. I’d like to see other games implement smartphone interactivity too.
