It’s official; Santa’s fucked.
Seeing as how I am an equal opportunity gamer, my anticipation knows no bounds. I froth at the mouth for LittleBigPlanet Karting, my knees go weak when I think about Resident Evil 6 and Borderlands 2; I must have them all.
As I drool over the list of games that are on the seven month horizon, I realize that I am experiencing a most subtle form of masochism; so many games, so little time……and money. The obvious solution is to pace one’s self; buy games at a controlled and sensible pace.
Not an option.
Here’s my shortlist of titles that get my heart pumping.
I love shooters and I love Western RPGs, the fact that it is free roaming with awesome vehicles only adds to its must-have-ness.
Resident Evil 6
I know there are those that rather dislike the series’ subtle transformation from a game that is survival horror to a third-person Call of Duty game with monsters. I have no loyalty to the survival horror genre and as long as that change to action horror is well implemented, Capcom will keep getting my hard-earned money. Sad.
Medal of Honor: Warfighter
The latest addition to the most balanced yet competitive console FPS series ever?
Assassin’s Creed III
Wouldn’t call myself a fan of the series as both the storyline and gameplay started to feel like a bad dream after the second one. The changes in scenery, character and weapons were desperately needed and the technical aspects of the gameplay impress the shit out of me.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II
The latest addition to the most popular yet cheap FPS series ever?
Might as well…
I’m probably all alone on this one but I love kart racing games, always have. LittleBigPlanet was a game I got into just cuz of the woman I was with at the time but I’m still excited. I’m a little confused as to why United Front Games are doing this rather than a Modnation Racers 2 but whatever.
Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale
Perhaps the game I’m looking forward to the most. I love arcadey fighters; Nintendo’s Smash Brothers series was a staple of my diet back when I was in high school and I’m looking forward to blowing countless hours on this game in a similar fashion. I haven’t played it yet so I’m a little worried that the gameplay mechanics may sway a bit too much from what I was familiar with in Smash. I know, I know; different developers, different games, different ways to play.
DmC: Devil May Cry
A new Dante with new origins and a different universe. I never played Devil May Cry for story anyway; I play it to swag out with swords, guns and aerial combos.
Is my list acceptable to you guys or have I revealed myself to be a noob with no gaming sense?
