Fuse, Insomniac Games’s latest title, has been given a new gameplay trailer.
You may remember Overstrike, the title announced at E3 2011, which showed a crackpot team of mercenaries that boasted various different abilities. It would appear that Insomniac have given Overstrike a new lick of paint, including a change of title: Fuse.
Fuse is a cover-based cooperative shooter that sees the team trying to recover the titular Fuse, an alien substance that has been used to create weapons, of which each individual member of the team has. As you can see from the trailer, weapons include a large bullet-proof shield, some form of crystallisation of enemies, a crossbow that literally melts enemies, and finally, a rifle that causes enemies to implode inside miniature polarities.
Fuse marks the first time that Insomniac will release a multiplatform title, having previously worked on the Ratchet and Clank series and Resistance, both PlayStation exclusives.
What do you think? I personally would like to see more, as from what I can currently see, it looks like a glorified PSN/XBL title, and not a full retail game. I am glad the trailer doesn’t have a dubstep soundtrack though… Phew.

I like the weapons. Neat.
