Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Releasing in 2013 for Wii U and 3DS

Monster Hunter 3 UltimateToday’s the big Wii U day and Capcom isn’t one to slouch. The publisher has just announced that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be launching March 2013 on the Wii U and 3DS for Europe and North America. That’s a simultaneous launch for both consoles.

The game will, of course, have new and different ways to interact with the game. Both the 3DS and Wii U versions will use their touchscreens to flip open books, change weapons, look up maps, and play through minigames. The 3DS version will also use StreetPass to exchange guild cards with other hunters.

Most interestingly, the 3DS and Wii U versions will be able to play with each other using a local wireless connection. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will also be online-enabled. Those of us who will own both a Wii U and 3DS version can also transfer save data between the two systems, instantly taking their game to the portable realm and back again.

So here are the ways you can play Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate:

  • By yourself on the 3DS
  • Local play on the 3DS
  • By yourself on the Wii U
  • Local play through the Wii U and 3DS
  • Online play through the Wii U

Again, the game is due to release March 2013 for NA and EU, 3DS and Wii U.
