Obsidian Entertainment, the studio behind the Neverwinter Nights, the upcoming South Park: The Stick of Truth and, perhaps most significantly, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords have teased a new title on their official website.
As you can see from the image, it features a logo with the number four, encircled by a dragon or snake eating its own tail, also known as an Ouroboros (the significance of which is cyclicality and recreation, so speculate on that how you will). Furthermore, the text on the page reads:
“What do the words mean? Nothing. The Dirge of Eír Glanfath is sound without form, a lone voice crying out in mourning because it must”.
This is undoubtedly going to be Obsidian’s next RPG title, however at the moment it is an extremely secret project. Clicking the image takes you to a speculation forum, so feel free to go and join in the discussion. Make sure you bring back any details here and post them in the comments section though!
I’ve heard some speculation that it could just be for the next Dungeon Siege. That would make sense since the last one was Dungeon Siege III and this page has a four in the center.
Looking at their history of games, Dungeon Siege is also the only one that would be a fourth release of a series.
