Nintendo are taking their new little darling, the Wii U, on an exclusive tour around the UK beginning on the September 27. Gamers will be able to get their grubby hands on demos of Wii U exclusives Nintendo Land and ZombiU. Also, the Big N has rather ambiguously hinted that “world famous Nintendo franchises like Mario” will be available to play, so perhaps there will be some surprises there, too. Along with the chance to play Wii U titles fans will also get the chance to sample upcoming 3DS releases, like the latest Mario and Pokémon titles.
The Wii U Showcase Tour, as it’s known, will be visiting a variety of shopping centres and expos across the country, and Nintendo promises a whole slew prizes to be won. If you’re interested you can click here and be whisked away to a list of the dates and venues.
The whole concept of touring a console is very interesting and an incredibly smart move by Nintendo. Is it a coincidence that they’ve chosen shopping centres as their venues of choice? I say most definitely not. They’ll most likely lure in unwitting parents already desperately searching for toys and gadgets to satisfy their little brats.
