League of Legends LAN in Development, Mac Still in the Works

For fans of League of Legends that were disappointed by the internet connection SNAFUs of last weekend’s tournament, I have good news for you. Riot’s CEO, Brandon Beck, announced today that a LAN system was in development for future tournaments.

It’s unclear at this point whether or not LAN will be an option for the greater public in the future. For now, though, it will hopefully make tournaments a little less frustrating. In fact, the LAN client will be used this weekend for the world championship finals.

But what about the Mac client? It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about that. Well, Riot is still playing its cards close to the chest on that front. Don’t worry, it’s still in development, but not wanting to get Mac fans too high in hopes, Riot has only released the following statement:

“We’ve got some good news coming on that front.”

Well, that’s a little vague. But it’s good to know that they’re still developing the Mac client at least.
