A remake of Dragon Quest 7 for the 3DS has been revealed through a leak of a scanned image from Japan’s gaming magazine, JUMP (visible at left). Not only is the remake in development, but a release window has been determined: February 2013 for Japan.
Little else is known right now, but you can be sure that more details will be revealed when that issue of JUMP is actually released. For now, we know that it’s being developed by ArtePiazza, a company that goes way back with the Dragon Quest franchise. Furthermore, the remake will apparently use StreetPass to allow users to exchange in-game lithographs.
Of course, as of right now this is all rumor since nothing official has been confirmed or announced by Square Enix. Furthermore, there is no word yet on whether or not the game will see a release outside of Japan.
