Telltale Games’s The Walking Dead game series has been well-received. Yet, so far, the game has only been available via digital download. This will be changing soon. A physical disc version of the game is slated for release December 4, 2012, and will contain episodes 1-5.
There will also be a collector’s edition released at the same time, which will contain the physical disc as well as a special edition compendium – all in a collector’s box. The compendium is over 1,000 pages long and contains the first 48 issues of Robert Kirkman’s series. Both the box and the cover contain exclusive artwork by Charlie Adlard.
The compendium alone is valued at $60, and the collector’s edition is priced at $70. If you just want to buy the game disc, that’s $30. (To compare, buying them all digitally costs $25.)
For fans concerned that a December 4 release date for the physical disc might mean that episode 5 won’t be released until then, you can relax. Episode 5 will be coming out sometime in November.
