Valve is Looking for Hardware Testers

We’ve been covering Valve’s gradual immersion into hardware for a while on this site, despite (or perhaps because of) its repeated insistence that it would not be making hardware. Despite the most recent rumor pointing toward a beta for some Valve hardware in 2013, it seems as though some lucky people may get their hands on Valve’s hardware sooner than that.

The company posted a request for playtesters of both hardware and software on the official Steam forums recently, saying:

“We’re looking for folks to come to Valve and playtest both released and unreleased versions of our games as well as play around with some of our hardware prototypes. If you have interest in stopping by (most sessions last around an hour), please fill out the survey below. We’re looking for people local to the Seattle/Bellevue area, but you’re welcome to fill out the survey no matter where you live as we may have plans for remote playtests in the future.

Thanks for your interest in helping us make better products!”

Then there’s a link to the survey. For now, only US gamers will be able to playtest, but Valve is looking to expand this internationally soon.
