Sony has finally brought its premium online service PlayStation Plus to PlayStation Vita owners.
The update brings a few new features to Vita owners, one of which includes cloud storage. Subscribers to the service are given a full gigabyte of space to save their game saves and other data, which can be accessed by going to the Content Manager section of the Vita menu. The 2.00 update also brings with it an improved browser, weather functionality embedded in the map application, and the ability to transfer files between the Vita and a PC.
Most significantly however are the new additions to the Instant Game Collection that owners can access. The US titles include;
- Uncharted: Golden Abyss
- Gravity Rush
- WipEout 2048
- Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack
- Jet Set Radio
- Final Fantasy Tactics
EU subscribers seem to get a slightly raw deal however, as they will only receive Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack and Chronovolt.
Will you be subscribing to PlayStation Plus? Let us know!

I’m so excited for PS Plus for Vita. I’ve had PS Plus for a while now but I now have a reason to play my Vita more often. At nearly the price of a PS3 game I can’t really afford to buy Vita games either physically or digitally. This is a very strong start to PS Plus for Vita as well. Looks like Sony is trying to lure in new PS Plus subscribers. The Vita deals for Black Friday are amazing and for $50 more you can have many more games to last you through the year.
I completely agree. I personally don’t own a Vita, however the implementation of PS Plus still hasn’t really won me over. It probably doesn’t help that we’re getting such a poor deal compared to you guys across the pond.
