The job listings are for two positions; an Art Director and a Game Designer/Implementer. The descriptions of both roles could definitely be tied to a project very similar to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Firstly, for the Art Director, the requirements are as follows:
“A project such as PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, which by definition brings together elements ranging from an incredibly wide range of artistic styles, requires a strong and unifying vision to present a cohesive and polished project,”
The listing continues:
“The Art Director is responsible for defining this vision, guiding the creation of art assets from concept through completion while helping develop new technology to facilitate this and maintain proper performance.”
“[The Art Director] will also represent SuperBot to external vendors, IP holders, and the publisher, explaining and demonstrating the vision and how individual characters, environments, or other assets will fit.”
The most obvious focus here is on the bringing together of a wide range of artistic style, a key aspect of PSABR. The Game Designer/Implementer is also listed as requiring the ability for;
“Designing, implementing, iterating on, and reviewing gameplay, game modes and systems”
It would make sense that the role of the Art Director could only be for future DLC for PSABR, including new characters from varying franchises. It is odd then that a Game Designer is required, as it would be out of the ordinary to hire one just for DLC.
Do you think SuperBot are planning the next entry in the franchise? Would you be happy if they were? Let us know!
