Freebird Games have confirmed that a prequel to their wonderful title To The Moon is set for release mid-2013.
Kan Gao, the writer and director of To The Moon, stated, “A Bird Story is a simple, surreal short about a boy and a bird with a broken wing. Despite being story-based like most of my games, there are essentially no dialogues throughout. While Dr. Watts and Dr. Rosalene aren’t in this game (chronologically, it takes place before their time), the boy in it eventually grows up to become their patient in ‘episode 2′ of the series.”
So far Freebird games have teased us with a trailer (although I suppose it’s more of a title screen than an actual trailer…), and it encapsulates the feel of To The Moon which made it so special.
I can’t wait for this! I’m also really excited that Kan Gao has pretty much confirmed with this announcement that there will be an Episode 2 in the story of Dr. Watts and Dr. Rosalene. If you haven’t already tried To The Moon, I highly recommend it. Everything about it is just stunning. Hopefully, A Bird Story will be more of the same.

You really should! I only got round to playing it very recently, and it’s fantastic. Finished it in an afternoon, so it’s not a long one!
